Hugh Castor Lic. Acu., CO #802
Hugh Castor is a licensed practitioner (CO #802) of acupuncture, Chinese medicine, and massage therapy. In addition, he is a certified instructor of Qigong and Tai Chi Chuan. He began his studies in 1993 under the guidance of Dr. James Berg physician/acupuncturist and DeeAnne Domnick midwife. At this time Hugh had the wonderful opportunity to study Traditional Chinese Medicine and natural medicine both as an apprentice and in the classroom. In this rich environment, Hugh learned acupuncture, Chinese and Western herbs, midwifery, Tai Chi Chuan, Qigong, Yoga, and most importantly began formulating his holistic approach to healthcare.
After three years of instruction and clinical observation, Hugh began working in Dr. Berg’s clinic and in private practice as a massage therapist, and therapeutic exercise instructor.
Deciding to deepen his knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Hugh attended the “Ivy League” of Asian medicine schools, Southwest Acupuncture College, where he graduated at the top of his class. At this school, he honed his skills by having the opportunity to study with some of the best teachers and clinicians in Chinese Medicine including luminaries such as Whit Reeves, James Ramholz, Fred Jennes, and more.
Hugh has a private practice in Fort Collins. In addition, he has the distinction of being one of the few acupuncturist in Colorado to work in collaboration with East Morgan County Hospital in Fort Morgan, where he runs an acupuncture clinic. He is also a proud team member of the Wholeness Center, a cutting edge, collaborative and integrative psychiatric care facility in Fort Collins.
Hugh is a highly dedicated health care practitioner who constantly strives to improve his skills through apprenticeship, workshops, and countless hours of self-study. This ensures that he can offer each individual the deepest level of care.
